Habitat - Outdoor :: RES Atrium

Ponds and other outdoor enclosures.

Post Posted: Wed Jun 01, 2011 7:41 pm   RES Atrium

Hello,

I am new to the forum. This is my atrium, it is in the center of my house and only accessable from the house. I have water striders, mayfly larva and assorted other natural life in the pond so I thought a turtle would make it perfect! I got my RES last week and he is a joy, he has fully adapted to his new home and comes out to greet me when I walk out. I am debating getting a second one so he will have a buddy but as I have heard it is not necessary!

I didn't realize until the picture posted that the tree limb does look like a snake! I have anoles and geckos but no snakes! I live in the south so the atrium is warm year round!

There is a screen roof to keep the squirrels and other unwanted critters out! I also have a filtration system to keep the water from going stagnant. It is a wonderful place to go and sit, I usually have my morning coffee out there! It is a wonderful place to have when you live in the city!

Looks nice! And for getting a 2nd turtle, wouldn't it be better if you got it now instead of later? Wouldn't he get to used to being an only turtle and freak out when another comes later on?
