I just got a western painted turtle about 2 weeks ago,it was from a friend so I checked it over and it looked really goodso I kept it. Well the person she got it from kept him in a swimming pool so I was trying to figure out what he will eat,I tried every thing and found that he will only eat worms and grasshoppers. I know that those two things do not give alot of calcium so in a book i was reading it had said if you with hold the foods that they are use to eating and try new foods it might take a few days but that he would eventually eat.Well i got the turtle sticks with the calcium in them but he will not tuch them,I feel really horrible because I feel like i am starving him but at the same time if i give him the grasshoppers he id not gwtting the calcium he needs. Please post too this and tell me what you think. :(

Just keep offering the food. Variety is key.

And don"t stress out these guys can go a while without eating. And even if hes only eating worms and grasshoppers thats better than nothing for right now.
