Ok today i look at my tank (20 gal) and i notice air bubbles coming from the output of my canister filter (rated for 75 gal). So i go to fix the problem and theres suddenly a cloud of debris in my tank. Knowing i havent cleaned the filter since it was purchased (3-5 months ago) i cleaned it. It has been running for about an hour and the tank is still VERY blurry. Anything i should do to help this along? And know so that this doesnt happen again?

What kind of filter is it? This happens to me all the time despite how hard I clean everything. If it's something you can net out, then take your turtles out and do that first.

When I have canister issues, I find it easier to move the canister to a laundry tub, or rubbermaid tub and work with the canister separate from the tank. Fill the laundry tub, plastic bin, or bucket with clean water and you can run your filter on that to look for issues.
