I use 2 Aqua-Tech 5-15 power filters on my 10 gal. I have to change the filter weekly and rinse it outat least 2 times weekly in between. From what I have read, as soon as I upgrade my tank, I will probably upgrade to the Filstar XP3.

If so. I learned that if you push the spinner thing down in the pump to far it will pump the water out. That might be your problem.

For those of you thinking of upgrading to the XP3, there is now the XP4 to consider. The best price I've seen it for so far is at www.petsolutions.com ($129.99)

U need to put water in the filter. Fill it up unitl it runs out the front in to the tank.

Keep filling the water until it begins to run over. You may need to already have the filter plugged in so that it can begin to pump what you are filling.

It needs to have the water in it before you plug it up. It should take the pump about 30-35 sec. to starting pumping the water out.

I don't have that kind of filter, so I wasn't completely sure. One of my filters the water will run back out of if you don't plug it in while pouring the water in. So it's easier to just plug it in and immediately fill it.
