Does anyone know where I can get replacement suction cups for a zoomed turtle dock? They're sort of funky ones where you really have to squish them around to get them over a knob on the tip of the dock's frame. I ask because I just bought a new one, and the suction cups have a horrible sickly sweet chemical smell, which is often a telltale sign of the presence of phthalates (a chemical used to soften pvc that may cause cancer and birth defects). The smell is so strong that my nostrils burn from it and I really don't want that in my turtle's tank. What do you think? How should I go about mounting this thing? Has anyone else bought a dock recently and noticed it? I got one a few months ago for Napoleon and it was fine.

You can get new ones at bigal's
bigalsonline.com

I'd put it up or wash it several times first.

I would take it back to the store I got it at or contact ZooMed that is something that they should know because that could be dangerous.

I've contacted zoomed and explained the problem, I'll let you know what I hear back. One other thing that was interesting was that the dock is gray. I've only ever seen pictures of ones that are sort of orangey colored, so I'm thinking they must have made some changes.

daredevilgirl013, where are you seeing suction cups on that site? I'm searching and not finding anything, can you post a link?

Yes I did, I asked if they've changed the product design and specifically asked if they could confirm or deny whether the plastic contains phthalates. I also asked if I could exchange the cups, because whether they're dangerous or not, they're noxious and I don't really want them in a close space with my turtle.

These might work:

I think most of those suction cups are interchangeable.

Here are the replacement ones, that are cheaper the the heaters ones...

Although, I think you might want to try something different, in case they all smell that bad.
