I`m in the process of setting up a 10gal tank wich i intend on using as a breeder aquarium for guppy`s etc to feed my turtles, the only problem is that my girlfriend dont want another tank in our living room, so its gotta be in the bedroom

The current filter i have is very loud (noname brand wich came with the 10gal starter kit), anyone know of any silent internal filters, or a filter that i can turn off at night without all the gunk being released back into the water ?

The tetra whisper reptofilter is rated for 20 gallons and is EXTREMELY quite-I'm using it in my 20 until I get an aquaclear 70-it comes with a cartridge and sponge..it's basically just the whisper but a gimmick for reptiles.

This is it-except mine is green and is called a reptofilter-it's the same exact thing except this might be for ten gallons..

I don't know why you would want to turn it off..if it is because of the noise well I assure you won't hear any noise.

Although I don't care for internal filters, the Fluval 2+ and 4+ both were very quiet when I used them. Most internal filters I've seen are, though, as long as they're under water. What kind of internal filter came with the kit you bought?

Maybe you can take a look at in the store...Tetra is one of the leading brands with fish so I'de expect them to have that filter...if not you could try the fluval 2+ that Marisa suggested though the tetra is very easy to use....

The rena filstar XP's are perfectly quiet unless you set the output tube above the water level to create a waterfall effect.

Well yeah those filters are great but I think that he is looking for a little cheap filter to do the job in a tank for breeding guppies...
