I'm thinking about my next upgrade to a 100 gal stock tank that will sit on the floor. However my canister booklet says it should sit so far below the water line. What type of filter would you recommend when the tank is on the floor? Also do zoomed turtle docks stick to the black sides?

You can sit the tank above the ground, on a stand of sorts, and then you can use your canister filter. If it's going outside, you could dig a hole for the canister to sit in.

Thanks. I thought about raising it, but it just seems easier to place it on the floor. The babies are still little so I still have plenty of time to decide. Thanks again for your suggestion.

Mickey -- If you get a 100 gallon stock tank, think in terms of gph. You need to exchange the water at least 5 times per hour. I think the FX5 is a good choice and is a canister. It would need to be below the water level and sit near or on the floor next to it. If it is metal you will need a very food heater.

In my 100g, I'm using a Fluval 4+ in addition to an bubble wand. It does a half-decent job of mechanical filtration, but offers no bio filtration.
