Hi everyone,

I am sooo confused on which filters to get. Im saving money up to get a filter for my turtles when they get a bigger tank. B/c right now I clean it by hand. (Taking the dirty water out & putting new water in)

Do I need to get one of those that hang inside the tank? Or just a filter like the XP3 and XP4.

Blahhh, Im confused...

How big is the tank? I'm a big fan of canister filters in general.

Ann-All -- When you consider a filter think about the ease of upkeep and gph. I suggest the you get a canister and think about gph. Five times the water that is in the tank is a good place to start. Please don't let some pet shop suggest that you double or triple the size of a fish tank. Turtles doo a lot more than fish and reqiure a lot more filtering. b.

Depends on the size of your tank. I would get a xp if I were you. They are WONDERFUL at keeping the turtle tank crysal clean!
3 turtles,
3 cats,

Keep in mind about the gph. Five times turn over per hour is a good start. That would be five times the volume that you have in the tank. Check the gph on any filter you are thinking about.
