I got this Jungle No More Algea stuff to help with the algea problem in the tank.

(And yes, i will be completely cleaning the tank tomarrow).

Can I use this if there are turtles and feeder fish in the tank? It also says not to use the carbon in the filter. Where will all the algea go then? And one more, how often do i use it if the tank is just cleaned out?

How bad is the algae in the tank? If it's just on some of the objects in the tank and isn't affecting the water, I'd just leave it.

What does it say on the bottle (the writing wasn't large enough to read, even with the picture enlarged)? I caught the word "Caution"---what does it say under that? I think it must alter the composition of the water to discourage algae growth. There must be some info on the bottle...

I looked up the product (Google it) and a portion of the description of it said it wasn't for ponds with live plants, snails or other invertebrates so, even though the plan is to use it in a tank, info like that would make me hesitate...

Thats why i didnt want to use it right away. Under the caution, it says what to do if you swallow it, get it in your eye, and even if it gets on your skin. If it gets on your skin, it says rinse your skin for 15-20 min. How can it be that harmful to humans but not affect other fish/turtles when they drink the water. And the algea is pretty bad. I may have the problem solved by getting new carbon pads, (my other one was getting pretty old) and Im going to do more frequent water changes. Only time will tell.

I had algae on my tank and basking rock.
So I
- cleaned the filter
- scrubbed the algae off the floor of the tank.
- scrubbed the rock in the sink and left it out of the tank for a couple days. That'll kill it.

no more algae. This is the first time since I got the turtle 2-3 years ago that I had algae. It's because I haven't cleaned the tank for a while...been busy...and i bought a stronger basking light than before by accident.
PeaceOut
