I was wondering if anyone has used this waste remover and if it work? Also, is it safe for your turtles?

It's a bunch of chemicals. You shouldn't need to add this to your water. Proper filtration and good tank maintenance is all you need.

There's not a single chemical at the petstores that you need to put in your tank. You're almost better off just emptying your wallet directly into the tank. Same waste of money and at least you know what you're putting in :D

Now planted tanks or reef tanks requiring bottled food / fertilizers are a different story but sludge, ammonia, PH, water conditioners, take your pick of miracle in a bottle is not ever needed. Remember our friends live in these tanks. The more chemicals you can keep out of the water, the better.

I have been using it in my tank I don't really know how good it is I read the bottle and it just says it uses beneficial bacteria. I don't use it often though and when I do it only put a little bit. I am no expert though so I guess you shouldn't put it in. my tank stays pretty clean now, but I do have 2 filters and a GFO reactor. I think the best thing I did was put the GFO reactor. It becomes a pain in the [---] because the phosban is expensive and the reactor clogs easily and I have to replace the pads a lot, but after I started using the gfo and sludge thing I don't have any more algae. I bought algaefix too, but I read on the bottle that you shouldn't get it on your skin so I didn't want to let the turtle drink it. I just use it when I wash the tank out now and I rinse it out after.

Hi guys, so interesting th8s talk. Since I also bought yesterday the slug destroyer because I was telling Steve that my husband and I have to clean our tank all the weekends completelly, and is exhausting, we also have a babyboy and need to keep the house clean so we want to have the thank crystal clear for the save of our three babys lol 2 turtles and baby boy. I use water conditioning too since Ive been told that the water chlorine can kill the turtles. It this bad to use it??? I'm th8nking on returning the slug destroyer. I also bought it at Petsmart.

But one think I do think is good are the eye drops and this Api Turte fix. I had one of my baby turtles almost dying and with those things I saved her, now she so happy she swims a lot. She was so seek before that she spent whole time sleeping w8th shallow eyes, didn't eat or anything.

Skip the water conditioner. If your filter has carbon in it, then it will take care of the chlorine. Chlorine also evaporates in 12-24 hours, so you can set some aside before you use it in the tank. I'm not sure what the Turtle Fix does. The eye drops are OK though.

Thanks Steve, Yes my filter does has carbon, so I will skip the water conditioner. Well the Turtle Fix is used to treat reddening of the skin, open wounds, damaged tissue and white cloudy film on the skin. I use it for one week along with the eye drops and It healed Dona, I also had to remove the carbon from the filter when using the API Turtle Fix. I was so scared because my other little yellow belly slider died from same symptoms as Dona, and I wasn't able at all to go to a vet because is too expensive. I think they both came sick from the place I bought them.

she didn't open her eyes, and they were swollen. She sepnt the whole time like sleeping on the basking area, didn't eat or swim, sometimes I put her on the water and she was floating weird, like if she had no straights to swim or float correctly. And also she had like fungus in some parts of the arms, like something white. After I started the treatment she really show improvements and in 2 weeks she was completely recovered, we were so happy, because if I have an animal is to take care of him or her.
