Equipment Review and Discussion :: will this bulb be good for both uva and uvb?

i saw a bulb at the petstore today called esu 20 watt uva/uvb bulb. it says 20 watt= 75 watt incandescent. can i use the 1 bulb for my uva and uvb?

Nope, that bulb puts out 3% UVB, you will want something higher than that. Reptisun 10.0 works well, and it's a self contained flourcent.

Also a UVA light is ususally a light used to heat the basking area. Something like a basking bulb.

bigalsonline sell it for 22.99 but petsmart and petco sell it for about 40. when i bought the xp3 filter from petsmart they matched the price of the filter from big als. do u think they will match big also price for the bulb?

Yes they will. You can pricematch at PetSmart even off their website. Print out the bulb price, go right into the store and pick it up... Maybe even print out a pricematch for a clamp lamp... that'll make the whole trip cheaper....

Anything at petsmart can be pricematched. I'll tell ya i saved 75$ on my XP3 by pricematching. I wish i could do the same with my Reptisun 10.0 and 300 watt tetra water heater, but i lost the receipt... DANG

It varies from store to store. Call your local Petsmart/PetCo and ask the manager if they'll pricematch Bigalsonline.com

You said they pricematched bigals before so I don't see why they wouldn't do it again.

i called the petsmart website and they said all stores will match off of petsmart.com and almost all will match on any site... just call, and ask.. You dont have to mention the site you will be matching, just you wanna match.
