I am thinking about buying the FILSTAR XP4. I have a 120gal. high tank that has 70gal. water in it. At the flow rate of 450gph. does anybody think that it might be to much flow. The problem I find is later on the pump is not as strong, as if it has a break-in period and slows down a little. Also, the price difference between the XP3 and the XP4 is about $80. The XP4 has more filter area than the XP3, but I'm worried about to much flow rate for my tank. Please give your opinion. THANKS :?

For my 125 gallon tank (also with about 70 gallons of water), I have an XP3 on one end and a Aquaclear 110 on the other. I think the XP4 sounds like a good idea. It will also come with 2 different types of output bars... a nozzle and a spray bar but either is fine for a 7" RES.

With a turtle that big, it shouldn't be a problem at all.

I have to jump in on this one. I too just bought a 120 gallon but it is 48x24x24. I asked Marisa the same thing about the XP3 and she said that would be good or to go for the XP4 if I could and yes that does cost more. I went all over the internet today and ended up on ebay. There were about 4 XP4's being sold and one ended this evening. I am not ebay savvy and by the time I got home there were 3 minutes left and it was selling for 137.00. Anyway, I got my daughter on there to bid for me and we got it for $142.00 plus shipping. But it was still a big savings so I jumped on it!! I think Petsmart.com had it for $219.00. So if you are looking for the XP4, there are a couple more on ebay.

"THANK YOU" I say this to everyone who has answered. I believe I have my problem solved. FILSAR XP4 it is. I have just joined Turtle Talk and I just love it. I hope to be able to help everyone I can with the experience I have with having a turtle for 5 years. Being able to share and learn how to keep our babies happy & healthy with others is what its all about.
