A couple of quick observances:

Is that tub a little close to the outlet? Or is the pic decieving? The Flourescent light you have there...is that a UVB bulb? Do you have some type of basking lamp or heat source?

Don't you worry about them escaping? It looks like they can just climb right over the side if they wanted to. Sorry for the 20 questions...

Is that a 50-gallon Rubbermaid stock tank? (I may be getting one so it caught my eye.) It looks nice, but your turts need a heat source for basking. (What's the basking area temp?) And the water is awfully close to that socket...

The first pic looks like he's ready to jump and run away. And I'm not so sure about the basking light (if it is) it looks a bit weak and a tad too far away from the platform. But none the less, cute turt! 8)

That is a nice setup, but that is really close to the electrical socket.

Yeah it is a bit close to the socket I suppose. I haven't had any problems, but I've been thinking of getting a childproof cover. The light is a full spectrum. They do have a basking heat lamp, I just moved, so I'm still fixing everything up.

marisa- it is indeed a 50-gallon Rubbermaid stock tank. It's lovely, although my BF makes fun, he says they live in tepperware... :)

They never escape. It may look like they can crawl out, but I think if they could they would and they don't so far. They do seem to like to run around on the floor when I let them!

Full spectrum isn't UVB though...there's a few threads regarding the lighting requirements.

Where did you get the trough? I'd like to find someplace that carries them down here in CA so I can bring my little guys outside once in a while...
Thanks!

Well maybe I said it wrong. I researched the light requirements and got the one that was necessary. I forget, it was awhile ago I bought it.

Got the trough at Petsmart, but you can also find them at feed stores. I had to drive to the Petsmart in the boonies, that had a horse section!

That is a nice setup! It looks like you are taking good care of them to me! :D I love your turt sticker, I wish I had one on my truck. I don't think that your turt will jump out and put his claws in that outlet. I love to see pics of res. nice! :D
