At night I turn off both of the lights. As far as I know, that's how you're supposed to do it. When the sun goes down there's no more light of any kind (not counting moon/star light).

Yes, they sleep in the dark.

I have a basking dock (zoo med) and where the ramp is i have the heat bulb, then on the other part is the UVB/UVA bulb. All my turtles do is go up the ramp and sit under the heat bulb. I have tried switching the bulbs around, but then they just go up on the other side...How should i fix this?

Sarah89 -- When you mention the tube light you assume that it is uvb. Does the tube read uvb or does the package it came in read uvb? The fluorescent bulb that has uvb only last about 6 months and will have to be replaced. Some how the uvb goes away and you have to replace it. The uva is in your normal light bulb or small spot or flood light.

The packaging and tube say UVB, 8.0. It also said in the package that I would have to replace it 6 to 10 months from time of purchase and came with a sticker that you write the original date of purchase to know when to change it.
