I was surfing for ideas and came across this: http://www.evl.uic.edu/aej/pond/index.html. (56K beware)

If you scroll down a little you will see what they did for an indoor pond. I really like the shape but was wondering if those pond liners can handle being above ground like that. Supporting the bottom is easy enough but I would worry about the sides bowing out and eventually breaking. Any thoughts?

Hmm, I have no experience with this, but it looks fine in there pics, and I would think it would be fine. If it dose bow though, you could always make a wooden frame to support it. :) I think it would be cool, and I remember a few old members that used the pre-formed pounds without any problems. :D

I can't answer any of your questions- but that's awesome. I hope to have a pond when we buy a house (hopefully this summer...).

ive seen allot of people do that on other forums most just silt on bricks and some lumber but ive seen people trim up around the pond and put sand underneath also. I have seen people just use a pond liner with cinder block as well so there is quite a few options and is very doable. I plan on doing one my self when i get my house built and I think im actually gonna use a liner tho and because it will probably be rather large and it would be easier to maximize space in tech house
