Here I always had of huge doubt on the sexage as my turtle " ProUT"(JOCKE)'; trachemys scripta scripta of 14 months! that's why I call the specialists to order aquatic to become clearer! Here is the photograph from which you could identify " proUT '!:D

It's the second time that I assist this situation for 15 days!! it lets predict good things for reproduction before some years when I shall have the home with the basin and all necessaires installations! Have a good day!

The picture of the turtle is male, as he has long nails and is actively "fanning", which is when the male reproductive organ comes out of the tail. I wouldn't recommend reproduction of these turtles as they are already overpopulated. Adopt neglected turtles instead.

That's fanning. I've never saw a turtles "goods" before. Scary

You can't beat the outdoors and natural sunlight, but regarding their summer home, is the pool in full sun? The pool isn't very deep, and the water is going to warm up fairly quickly. They really need a shady area to go to if they desire. And some plants in there to provide some cover and give them a sense of protection would be good, too. The rocks are out of the water enough so that they can both dry off? I'm assuming you're going to be nearby when they're in the pool...

Wow.. you can take a photo while your male turt is 'fanning'... dats so cool.. ahaks~! actually before this.. before I know what the heck is dat thing come out from my Totto tail.. I was so scared cuz it looks so scary like a ghost going to come out.. gheee.. then I quickly take my videocam to record it.. hehe.. by d way, I also put my 2 turtle in a small children pool.. ain't got big tank.. but I do customize the pool where I place the pool at my house porch then there island rock in the middle of the pool also dry beach area.. hehe..
