Yes, my dock is completely out of water ( I have one of those zoomed turtle docks). I want to visit the vet, but I don't know a herp vet around here, how can I find one?
Also, how much do they usually charge for a visit so I can save up the cash?

I also forgot one thing, it could have been caused by shedding problems. If a scute leaves a little gap while shedding and the scute doesn't come off, the water can get trapped and cause shell rot

Wasn't there a question about those areas in another post? It would be nice to see a pic of the area in question dry and not wet. Is any portion of scute trying to lift up at all? Is the area soft? And how long has the shell been like that?

The silver sulfadine creme is only by prescription; you can get the Nolvasan from a vet as well, but I've also seen it sold on-line (make sure you get the kind for cleaning wounds and not for general disinfecting, it should be a 2% solution, I believe).

Yes it was in another post, but it just got brought up here, sorry about that. I'll try to get a pic of it dry, but whenever I take pics I have to borrow my friend's camera. I didn't inspect the softness and everything though. It's been like that for somewhere around 2 months.
And yes, we're up in storrs

The closest clinic to you that I know of is the Bolton Veterinary Clinic (I think it's on Rt 44, but am not 100% positive). There used to be a vet there named Dr. Czrya (something like that) who dealt with turtles and is a member of ARAV. I haven't met her personally, but when I lived in Japan and was here for a visit, I called the clinic because of a problem I was having with my RES and she took the time to call me back after hours to discuss it. At the time I think the charge was $38 for a basic visit. I don't know if she's still there though, you'd have to call and find out. There's also a Dr. Morganti in Avon who I've seen recommended by more than one turtle keeper. Check the listings under CT in the links in the sticky, though.

I'm also thinking that someone in the Zoology Dept. at Uconn could recommend a herp vet as well.
