I bought some wreath metal hangers that I was going to bend and hook onto the side of my tank and angle it 90 degrees and put a piece of slate on it. Will the metal be ok for the water or will it cause problems such as rust? they are coating with green paint.

I think there was one or two people on this forum who made something similar, and it's something that I would recommend against. First - slate is heavy, second - your tank is not designed to support it, third - you don't want rust and whatever paint they used in your tank.

Also, I like your avatar but you'd need resize it to 80x80 pixels. Thanks.

It would be better to support the slate from underneath. And those wires will enventually rust. How big is the piece of slate? How big is your tank?

For that size, it might be better to use corkbark and wedge it into the sides of the tank for stability or buy a turtle dock, which is what a lot of people seem to do.
