Habitat - Indoor :: Advice please! Building a new basking area!

I found a "build it yourself" crate at target so i bought it and cut out part of the bottom. It fits on top of my tank and I put the hole in so Leo could get in. I have a rubbermaid top I plan on using as a ramp, but I can't figure out how to attach the darn thing! I tried glueing it, but because it's at an angle it really doesn't stay. Is there some method I can use to make the ramp stay on?

Get some metal braces from Lowes or Home Depot and bolt it to the bottom of your basking area and then bolt the ramp to the braces and bend the braces to the angle you need. That's what I did anyways for my ramp

I've attached a ramp to a basking area (both plastic) by drilling holes and using nylon fasteners (you can get them at places like Lowes or Home Depot).

Yeah, my only problem is that I don't have a drill because I'm at school. I bought a brace and bent it to the right angle, but that won't stay when I glue it either! I tried using silicone too and that wont work...what should I do?

Also, how do you keep the shelf liner on the ramp? I'm not sure how to glue it and duct tape would come off in the water. help!

What about nails or large tacks? What about one of those large rubber bands? How about some plastic ties?

I use tacks to hold the shelf liner to the ramp and basking area floor. As for attaching the braces to the basking area you could try nailing it or try and find someone that has a drill or even one of those power screwdrivers that can hold a drill bit.

I'd try siliconing the shelf liner to the ramp in strategic places.

I used zip ties. I was afriad of anything metal because of rust. I think you can take you box to Home Depot or Lowes and if you are really nice someone might drill a couple of holes for you. The Zip ties are very inexpensive and can be changed when you clean your tank if needed.
