Whoa, topic explosion! See what happens when I don't get online on the weekends? Crazy, people, crazy!
I had a few things to add, though.
@Painteds4life - Yes, putting another species of turtle in with a slider means the likelihood of less aggression because the aggressor will be the slider. 2 sliders = 2 aggressors. 1 slider = 1 aggressor. I would never recommend someone get another turtle to put in with a slider, but if they were set on it, I would say a female "not slider", yes. Females are more docile, in general, and "not sliders" are less aggressive, in general. HOWEVER, just because something occurs "in general" doesn't make it a fact.
In order to show that it is a fact, you would need RIGOROUS TESTING. From a scientific standpoint, you would need at least 50-100 controlled experiments testing out any and all combinations. Just by polling people and asking for their personal experience, that doesn't work. You need to know age, gender, and entire life history of each turtle, along with species, gallonage, feeding schedule, etc. Just because at this point you and theartbook have found what seems to be a good ratio doesn't mean that it will work for every turtle, every time. And, it's still yet to be proven that your turtles are going to be fine for life, they may just flare up one day when you least expect it. Or they may not.
But one person's experience doesn't equal fact. Sliders will attack anything and everything they come across if it's in that slider's personality.
Y'all are silly debating a matter of opinions!
