I forgot to clean my sand before I put it in the tank; it's Exo Terra Riverbed Sand. Now my water is extra EXTRA cloudy. It'll settle eventually though, right?

Won't be as cheap because you'll have to pay shipping on it, but here's a link to their official site

I ended up getting some regular play sand... no way was i paying 8 dollars for the sand and then 14 for shipping... thats nuts... i was able to get a 50 pound bag of play sand on our military base store for 3 bucks.

So I finally put sand in my tank yesterday afternoon. I washed it for 15 minutes before hand. At first when I put it in, visibillity was horrible but as of this morning I could see to the back of the tank, but it was still not clear.

There were lots of cluster of sand covered bubbles on the surface so i tried to scoop em up with a net, of course this didnt help and now the tanks visibillity is pretty bad again. Can't see the back of the tank.

I have the aerator on, but not my filter.

This is what happened to me the first time. I thought I'd washed it enough... but I really hadn't. How much sand did you put in? 15minutes doesn't sound like enough time to wash sand. The second time I did it, I washed it for like an entire hour!

I put about 25 lbs. in lol I have a big tank.

Instead of taking it all out, could I just mix it all up so the small particles float up and then gravel vac about 30 Gallons of that water out and put 30G of new water back in.

Chris hasn't been on in awhile, but I think he got it from a friend or on craigslist. Craigslist is a great source for used tanks. The one Chris posted is acrylic, as opposed to the glass ones most of us have.
