Yeah Plexiglass is way cheaper and lighter, and since there won't be water in it glass isn't necessary

if you read all the posts after that one for a while, and i think he posted a few other threads and he was told many times about his tank, i think in the end he upgraded to a 40 gallon, which is still too small

Apparently there are FIVE turtles in there. :( Read the post, search by the member's name under author. I really hope that they get a bigger home soon, that's not nearly enough space for them to swim, never mind bask and be healthy. The aggression problems that will develop are going to be horrible.

Here is our new basking area. They seem to be still pretty weary of it, how long does it usually take them to warm up to the new area? It's about 90-95 degrees in there, but they just dont seem interested. We built it about 2 weeks ago, and i'm worried that they're not getting enough basking time. We had to get rid of the other zoomed floating dock because Sheldon decided it was a snack (dope). Nibbler will go in it momentarily when we're looking at it becuase he thinks we're going to feed him (piggy). Suggestions/ ideas would be much appreciated.

Thanks for looking.

Petsmart or Petco they both carry it. It's called Eco Carpet by Zoo Med. It's designed for reptile terrariums, but works ok here. Also cool because it's made from 100% recycled plastic bottles so it's eco friendly :)

No, no adhesive backing. for the part that's just flat on the actual basking area, there is no real need to hold it down, becuase the ramp keeps it tucked underneath. On the ramp however we just used sillicone glue from the local hardware store.

We just upgraded Hiro to a 90g tank and I made him a new basking area. I don't think he has used it yet since I put it in there last night. He can't get enough of his swimming area and just loves to swim up and down up and down. :D He isn't used to so much space to swim as he used to be in just 20g.
