Keep a close eye on him to make sure there are no relapses.

Thanks Steve :)

Yup I will keep a close watch of him still.. In fact, I'm still doing what the vet says.. Eg sunlight n warm water n 12hrs UVB / sunlight becoz all these builds up Ninja's immunity..

The new guy I got was doing the stretch of the neck & and open mouth Almost like he's gasping for air.... But he was in a 10g tank and isnt a small guy either. When I took him to a vet (quick visit) they said it was due to lack of muscle & laziness cause well... 3" turtle in a 10g tank 1/2 sm pebbles and 1/2 water. Not sure on what kinda light they used if they had one at all to be honest. I might have to find a new Vet just to be on the safe side. :?

Maybe it was just a yawn? If you strongly disagree with a vet, it doesn't hurt to keep your options open.

He will do this quite a few times in a 2 min span. I did however take him to another vet and they said it could be that his "body" had grown quicker then his shell due to a small tank and confirmed the lack of muscle :(. Do they sell Stairmasters for turtles? :D

Troops, if you suspect tireness, tried putting him a day in low water level, not covering his shelll and see if he pants like in water..
If he pants like in water 2min span once, seems like respiratory infection though.. Are there other symptoms like appetide? Eyes got swollen? Is he active?

Better quarantine him from others to monitor him..

Timmy, thanks :) Ninja is now growing fast and eating a lot... One week he grows like 0.5cm in width or length.. Very strong now to struggle n kick.. haha..
