Hey again, still trying to find a uvb light that will work for me and not break the pocketbook. Here's a link to a bulb i was looking at at petco. It's only 3% uvb, and i was wondering if this was ok...

here's the link. (ps: I also have a heat lamp, so i only need this bulb for uvb..)

hey there! at that price you can get a better uvb light at 10% output, made by a well known and trusted company, reptisun! many turtle keepers use this and i have it too! http://bigalsonline.com/catalog/product ... ry_id=4091

with shipping (i think $5.00) i think its a buck or so more than what yours is but its better i think!

I would agree. For the same price you can get a lot more. Shop around, you never know what deals you might find. Just don't buy used!

I have used that bulb in a pinch, and it has worked well with the turtles I've used it with. However, the 3% UVB is the minimum amount I've read that is acceptable for turtles; it has to be really close to the turtle. You can, btw, get that bulb with a 7% UVB output if you check around (for desert reptiles). But, I have to agree, that if it's between that bulb (3%) and something higher, I'd go higher, at least 5%.
