Habitat - Indoor :: Algea taking over my tank

Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

I have some Stealths and they seem to be working (but I have to set the temp gauge higher to get the temp I want). I still would prefer an indicator light, however.

Regarding algae control, wouldit be worth it to purchase the magnetic algae cleaners you see in Wal-Marts? I'm itching to get one because the algae is blooming in my tank again.

I've never tried them. If you do, let me know how they work.

Daniel, I believe those magnetic algae cleaners are only used for removing algae that is on the glass and won't work for green water.

You have a magnet inside the tank and one outside. For the one in the tank, there is a scrubber pad attached to it. You move the pad on the outside to scrub off the algae thats on the glass. Probably useful for people with those giant, wall sized tanks. :)

I'm thinking od getting an algae eater to put in my tank. Is it safe to have with my turts? They're about a year old so I'm not sure if they would try to eat the poor thing. I have a 60 gallon tank, should I get one or two if they are safe?

safe yes, but likely to become food. And, by the way, double posting doesn't do much good! I answered the rest of this on your other post.
