Habitat - Indoor :: Trouble with New Canister Filter

Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

So, I installed my new canister filter last night. It turns out, my turts have decided that the spray bar makes a really nice ledge for them to hang on. They keep pulling it down and knocking it off. Has anyone else had this problem? I'm trying to find a solution. Should I just take the spray bar off and let the outtake stream in one flow? The water is about 8 inches deep and the only thing in the tank is a dock- is my problem a lack of things for them to 'stand on' that allows them to peek their heads out of the water without floating?

My tank is full of water.Turtles love to swim. I have an above tank basking area and a lot of fake plants around the top they can rest on. Im not a fan of spraybars did your filter come with another output nozzle ?

Maybe mine are just exceptionally lazy- they go to great lengths to find a place that they can stand or hang on to so they can peek their heads out of the water without having to float. I'll have to try some fake plants- I was worried I'd just be setting them back upright every day from the turtle demolition derby.

There's no other nozzle, but I can remove the spraybar so that the water simply pours out of the U-shaped piece attached to the hose. Why are you not a fan of spraybars? I was thinking they'd promote water circulation...

The plants i use have suction cups and I attach them near the top of the tank. I just dont like sprays there is nothing wrong with them I just prefer not to use them. You could also add a power head for circulation.I have an FX5 filter in a 40 gallon tank so I dont have circulation problems.:-)
