Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

Hello, I've had my turtles Jumper and Button for over two years now. And they've both been together since very little. For almost a year now I'm having to keep them separate. Both have attacked each other when one or the other has shown no aggression. But I've gone to pet stores and seen that multiple RES r in the same tank. Will they get over this or do I have to keep them apart forever? I've tried putting in a screen to keep them apart but they end up taking it down. R their any plexiglass ones on the market?

We just have one turtle, but from what I have read here and other places, aggression is common and you probably need to resign yourself to separation. I've heard many here use "eggcrate," the PVC grid that is used for flourescent lighting diffusion in drop ceilings. I don't know how it is attached to the side of the tank.

Hopefully others can chime in.

Pet stores are not a good example of how to take care of turtles. They won't get over it, territorial behavior is natural in turtles.

You can buy a tank divider at pet stores, if you think your tank will still provide enough swimming and basking room.
