Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

What, in your opinion, is the best material for the floor? Tile, stone, sand, etc?

What has your turtle liked the best? Is there anything you've used that your turtle didn't like at all?

I've looked through all the pictures, but I'm not sure what I want to use, and am hoping to learn from your experiences before I make a bunch of mistakes.

I use ceramic floor tile, it seems to keep the heat better than carpet, the other material I used before. Plus it doesn't absorb the water that my :msgreen: brings on the basking site so it evaporates faster. She seems to like it as much as she liked the Zoomed styrofoam ramp she used to bask on when she was waaay smaller and before she started to munch on it

Mine's carpet. Very thin so it doesn't retain water.

I'll second tile. Keeps the basking area nice and warm. The turtle loves it

I have tile on one basking area and cork bark on the other. I've had no problems with either. Also check out green reptile carpet.

I like the idea of a more natural surface like cork bark. Do you think I'd need to put something between the cork and the wood base, to keep water off the wood?
