I got a check in the mail two days ago from my university refunding the tuition for the summer class I dropped due to being hospitalized. I am so excited right now I'm almost crying. I can finally afford to buy a new tank and stand for my little RES (he is so excited) and one for my betta!

No pics right now as I don't have the tank yet, but I will be getting either a 60 or a 65 gallon kit and stand. Any tips for setups? I prefer bare-bottom, but I would like to add some nice plants, a few decorations and some cheap-y fish (like a small school of rosy reds) but I have no experience a tank bigger than 20 gallons. Thanks so much everyone! I will post pics as soon as I get the set up.

Congrats! Hope you have fully recovered.

ow big is your RES now? If you can wait, look for a used a tank and stand as you will save a lot. Some pet stores that match the $1 per 1 gallon sale have slightly bigger tanks as well, it might be worth it to look around. Also, a void a kit, especially if it includes more than the tank and stand.
