Hi guys,

I have a Marineland C-220 canister filter. Anytime I do any kind of work with it (replace carbon bag, change any sort of piping/tubing, basically stopping it for any reason) when it starts back up it will run fine for 10-15 seconds and then it will aspirate or belch, and the it will run for another 10-15 seconds and repeat this cycle over and over.

I meet are the distance between tank and canister requirements outlined in the manual, it hasen't mattered if the water line is well above the intake or just slightly above, and I've tried pumping it several times and turning the pump on and off several times and all combinations of those two. I've let it run for several hours after changing whatever needed changing with no difference is aspirating cycling. The PVC intake plumbing was all sealed with PVC cement and there are no water leaks. Can there be an AIR leak if there is no WATER leak, I don't think so? I keep seeing air bubbles accumulate in the intake tubing?

I'm at a loss?

Do you remove the water and re-prime? Has it always been like this or has it been gradual?

*edit - you just beat me to it.
