If there are any deep pits/breaches, soft spots or smells, then yes I would take them to a vet. If it's firm and solid, then a few sheds would be huge.

I'm with Steve. The Vet may be the best option. When my Sheldon had a fungus it took six months to get rid of it with medicine. Good luck and I hope they feel better soon.

The shells are not soft or smelly. Is it okay to pick some the shedding parts off their shells or should I just leave them alone.

Only remove what is completely loose and is only barely holding on. Attempting to remove something that isn't ready to come off can lead to injuries and infections. I still think the vet would be a good call since they haven't seen one in a long while and the shell condition seem to be lingering.

Borrowed this idea from Devilduck. We (and our turtle) liked the existing basking dock, but as he grew, the suction cups that held the dock up, could not support his weight. The only thing we did differently, was add an additional piece on the bottom, so that we could use existing holes (Where the suction cups used to be) to attatch the dock with zip ties. It looks like the dock is under water, but it is actually about an inch above it, and completely dry.

Looks good, it'll probably last forever :) Have you looked into magnets to support it?

I have not looked into the magnets, but will definately keep that in mind. I saw what Devilduck had come up with, and we had pvc laying around the house, so it was a pretty cheap fix. Only bought some additional pieces for the extra cross piece, and some caps, just to see if we liked them. I do not like the space between the tank, and the back of the basking dock, but if Clarence was to decide to wedge himself in there, there is a lot of give. It took about 2 hours of him smashing things around in his tank this morning (in a sulk), but he is finally basking.

Looks good with a lot of potential, but man look at that water. How long after a change does it become like that?

..."a lot of potential" - lol - it's easily the best setup on here - btw the "windows" are 1/2" thick Lexan and I modeled the custom ramp in 2 mating pieces on SolidWorks CAD and built it with stereo lithography on my MakerBot...

...btw the picture was taken 2 days after a 100% water change - the greenish tint is a byproduct of owning a house with copious southern exposure and panoramic views, but Torbert thanks you for the judgmental response...

Steve - congrats, your forum is apparently big enough for trolls, lol. Check that one off the bucket list.

I think he just needs some algae control. Not sure what the lighting situation is though.
