The Eastern Spiny is much prettier than I thought.

I used to have a large female. But she was a bully and at the time I didn't have a separate tank so I rehomed her. She now lives in a 90 gallon by herself and she was gorgeous but all mine are males that I know of

The males aren't bullies? You're pretty fortunate if thats the case.

He picked on my smallest , my Mississippi map , so I paired up my Sofshell and my map and they love each other they share a 35 for the moment and I haven't had any problems !

These were my previous 2 painted , the one on top I'm not sure what she was but the one on bottom was my female Eastern Painted and her name was Biggie

Lovely, picture of your painteds.. The top one looks a lot like our Philbert.. We figured out Philbert is a Midland painted turtle.. How long did you have these turtles?? Did you get them as babies? Was just wondering how fast painteds grow.. We have had Phil for a month and I don't think he has grown at all.. He is tiny about 1.5" max.. Glad to hear that you liked your female painted Biggie.. I am looking forward to see how Phil develops..lol He may be a Phyllis for all we know

I think the one o have now is the same a midland not an eastern lol , but mine is a male the one I have now , and me and my boyfriend rescued biggie , she was that size when I got her and the smaller female I had her about 6 months and she didn't grow at all to be honest , I'm about to put up some pictures of each of my brats out of the water , they like picture time lol

My RES Wiz before I got him the turtle he was housed with but half his tale off and a lot of his back claws :c it doesn't affect him what so ever tho !^.^

This is the one I'm assuming is the Midland Painted male we call M&M

Next one of my new guys . He's a map and I believe he's a Common Map Turtle , anywho his name is Ninja . My boyfriend named him lol he said he looks like a ninja turtle xD But I do love his markings they're so pretty !

Next is my little guy Smalls , his story isn't a pretty one , my brothers friend caught him out of a creek and had him kept in a little bucket for a while , he didn't grow or anything , so then my brother took him and at least tried , he put him in a 55 gallon tank with a basking area and his water was always clean , but over time he was getting sick and I could see it , eventually I noticed his shell was getting soft so I started looking things up , his is where my love of turtles started lol , anyhow I was on Craigslist a few days later and happened upon a whole tank setup with a turtle ! So I jumped on it and got everything I needed to make my baby healthy again (did I meant ion I stole him from my brother ? Lol ) anyhow , after a couple days he became more active and started basking more and after a few months his shell was hard and I saw him shed for the first time ! That was when I started posting here honestly cause I freaked out when I first saw his shell scutes falling off lol anywayssss without further adew , I present before AND afters of my baby Smalls , I think he's a little stunted because of his rough start maybe I'm wrong but he's about two years old and is about 3 inches long !

Ok one, are you sure Wiz is a male? From the pics I can't see the tell tale long front claws..

M&M is that the name of your painted? if you look on his plastron if he has dark patch coloring in the center he is most likely a midland or a cross.. I think Easterns have no patch at all and the Westerns it covers a lot of the plastron touching the edges.. and A southern is easy to tell from the carapace..

I think your map turtle is gorgeous and Smalls?? is that the name of this really cute red eared at the end?? He is adorable..

I can't be sure on the male or female RES lol and I think he's a midland , and yes , Smalls is my love , he got me into the whole turtle business , and he's two years old now , he's been through a lot !
