I don't see how anyone is getting away with cleaning their canister filters 1-2-3 times a year......this is my #2 fx6 I did clean the first two trays before I took the pics.....????

That #2 filter was last cleaned in early November

I clean my 2 filters once a month. They are never that dirty. They look more like the top tray in the second picture.
1 Male Mississippi Map/Mississippi
1 Female RES/Slidy.
1 DBT White Concentric Female/ Lucky
1 DBT Male/ Spots
(Housed in the same tank)

300 gallon indoor stock tank, FX6 & FX5 filters. Mega-Ray 100w UVB bulb.

Roughly every two months here. Not quite as bad as yours, but I should do it monthly.

I don't use any of the blue pads in mine. Just media.

My Fx5 has 1 blue pad. The 6 has the 2 bio pads that came with it.
1 Male Mississippi Map/Mississippi
1 Female RES/Slidy.
