Habitat - Indoor :: Plants and driftwood question

Do any of you have a planted turtle tank? IF so, how did you anchor the plants?

Same question for driftwood. I bought a really nice looking piece yesterday thinking it was heavy and he'd leave it alone. No, the little jerkface likes to use it as a back scratcher and keeps moving it around. Worse yet he's discovered he can plough up the plants faster with the wood. :/
I was thinking of getting a piece of slate and anchoring it... but thought I'd ask on here first.

Thoughts?

Only have heard of it being attached to some rocks... so pretty much similar to what you have in mind. I've given up though, turts are gonna have to live with a bare tank.

Yes , This works for me because I have three inches of river rock. Slate was to lite in my setup. River rocks hides what I do. I break in half bricks , tie 100 # braided fishing line tightly to brick and loosely to plants not to hurt them with a double half hitch knot. Bury brick in river rocks. The same for the driftwood and or wedge it somewhere in a corner plus bricks. Not always in the place you may want it but to keep them from moving it. Before I rehomed Mickey 9 1/2"male RES he was so strong that he just re decorated the tank himself no matter what I did. Piggley is only 5" and above works great with him. Mickey was rare "VERY STRONG" for any turtle a superman !
If your tank is bare bottom good - large suction cups worked in the past for me and tie to them?
I always keep bricks in my outside 70 gallon plant tank ready to go inside. Pre -soaked. In the summer it's hard to keep up when they feed heavier so with the plant tank saves me money from buying. I found by me a wild hornwort is stiffer than that flimsy LPS type , the only plant that grows fast enough for RES's to me. First quarantine them. Hey any floating plants look good at least until eaten!

Thanks guys. My wife just asked me to move his tank into a more visible place in the house and the bare tank looks bad to me. I thought plants and driftwood would spruce things up a bit but my substrate is sand. I had river rock when I first got Moe but I had a difficult time keeping it clean.

Moe uprooted all of the plants except the tall grass within a few hours on Saturday. Sunday I tried tying a few of them to river rock and burying the rock in the sand. He just bit the stems off and left the rocks with nubs buried.

I decided to put a sump back in as a filter and created a planted fuge. At least this way what's left of the plants aren't destroyed.

Back to a bare tank but now with some driftwood.

Sorry, I'm a little late, but I tied them to individual river rock and then surrounded it with a few other rocks. That system seemed to work pretty well. Right now, it's a bare bottom, but I've been planning to go back to the plants and rock, again. It's just a few rocks that barely cover the bottom, so it's still mostly bare bottom and easier to keep clean. My little jerk face took out a few of them and rearranged the rocks now and then, but overall things stayed in place.
