just wondering why one will bask and the other will not?, at least when I am in the room.

Is the basking area big enough for both of them to fit comfortably? Or is the one basking bullying the other? Those are the only things I could think of.

My turtle likes to bask in private. Could it be that the one turtle is basking when you aren't in the room? Set up a camcorder or something and record it. I know my Zeke doesn't like to bask if anyone else is in the room....likes his privacy! ;-)

I've read on here that the turtles who like to bask in private, like in Zeke's case, you can put that aquarium scenery paper around the aquarium where the basking area is to provide some privacy. Or just some cardboard around it if you want to save some $.

Yea i noticed as the day progressed i stayed out of his sight in the room and he eventually did start basking now it seems like he doesnt care as long as i dont get to close.
