From what I've read (I'm upgrading too) 100watt heater is good for 30gallon tanks.. 55 gallon needs a 200watt.

so yeah, I think you need to upgrade it, just like I do :)

i woudl upgrade to an even bigger heater than 200w so that when you upgrade the tank you wont need to get another heater. i am not shure if it works this way, or maby the water will get too hot. i am not shure.

i like the visi-therm stealth heaters.. and a 250 is like $17.00 at BigAl's.. not a huge cost to upgrade.

LOL yep live and learn.. did the same thing myself. The petstore is DOUBLE the price at BigAl's heck even DrFosterSmith's is half the price as the pet store. I've learned that unless its an emergency purchase, I buy online.. :)

ok... s/h is like $6.95 for up to $35 at BigAl's..

DrsFosterandsmith are having a sale on them.. shipping is $7.95 up to $30.. obviously the more you send shipping goes up but not more than a $1 or so per increment. That's why I try to do a large order ever so often, get extras and then you don't run out.
