If you look in the Photo Gallery, there are some made from PVC pipe, and I'm not sure gluing is necessary (someone who's made one can tell you). If it is, I'd use aquarium silicone.

BTW, are you from Oz? :)

yep i saw the pcv basking spot. i was going to make something similar to it. but since my turtle has gone a bit, his old hiding spot doesnt fit him anymore, i was hoping to make a hiding spot along with the basking spot. i wanted to put some pieces together so he'll have a nice little area to hide whenever he wants.

it depends on the materials your platform is made of but you can use aquarium silicone or epoxy putty (the ones for aquariums).

i used epoxy putty on ceramic tiles.

You could still do PVC, and just add more T's on to either glue stuff to, or if your tank has gravel, just balance pieces, could also drill holes and tie it on with cables.

On a side note, are you actually narcoleptic, only ask because I am :)

thank you all for the quick replies. looks like ill be heading over to home depot soon, and target for a new giant plastic tub. my old one somehow cracked.

im getting all excited about making some more toys for my turtle. he and i have been through alot.

therizman - im not actually narcoleptic. im just always sleepy, my eyes looks half closes like im about to go to sleep, and whenever my friends call, im normally still asleep. its just a nickname ive grown used to lately.

Ah ok, just curious cause the only other narcolpetic I know is my Mom... go figure, my doctor says a lot of people usually go undiagnosed, plus the sleep study to find out that you have it is super expensive to have done.

Home Depot is one of my favorite stores. If you do build a PVC dock, dont bother with any PVC glue or cleaner, all that stuff is useless for what you are doing. It seals plenty tight enough as is, just make sure you leave some holes so water can get into it, otherwise it will float and be a big pain to keep down.
