Habitat - Outdoor :: The pond in winter

I am having a hard time keeping the pond warm enough. even though I have the thermofilter in it and set to 78, it's just not keeping things warm enough... the pond gets up into the low 70s on warmest days and stays in the 60s or below most days.

So yesterday I ordered a popup greenhouse. It's 5 feet wide by 5 feet deep and 6.5 feet tall. My hope that with the greenhouse and the thermofilter working together, things will stay warm enough in there.

In the meantime, Al is set up inside in a small tank and he goes outside when it's warm enough.

My box turtle is doing great with greenhouse cloth over his pen.

I'll be very interested to hear how it goes with your greenhouse. I was wondering about the same thing with Spot's new pond. He's not using it yet but I hope he will be by spring.

Can you turn the thremofilter up a lil bit more? Say 80ish. It'd help raise the temperature. And with that green house, you should have your own "turtle haven"

I tried cranking it up into the 80s but with no success, and I didn't want to burn it out.

I anxiously await the greenhouse- I know Al will be so happy to get back outside!
