Hey everyone, as fellow pet owners, i think we can all share how it feels to go on a trip and have to leave your pets at home. I think we miss our pets more than anything while were gone, i know thats the case with me. So i thought before i leave with my family for California later this morning (it's 3:50am now) id share with you some pictures of not just my turtles, but the rest of the pets i have here at the "zoo".

Heres most of the adopted baby turtles im sure most of you have heard about, theyre all finally comfortable in their home and are basking and eating and growing!

These are my two wonderful girls, happy as ever!

This is my dog Rudi. She has it the worst of the animals because she has to go to "camp kennel" because shes too much for anyone but us to handle, but you can hardly tell by this picture.
Image

This is one of our cats, Friskie. Weve had her since she was born, but we eneded up giving her to a family who's cat had been hit by a car when she was little, but then the family went through a divorce and Frisk was not being cared for so we took her back with us.

And this is our other cat Charlie, who's full name is Charles Henry Watts. My sister and I brought him home from a mission trip to West Virginia, we were working on a house that had a TON of cats, and two litters of kittens. The family living there all but asked us to take some, so we took 4 back to PA with us, friends of ours took the others and we got Charlie, he is the best cat anyone could ever ask for.

This is Gobbles our Zebra finch, he doesnt have much of a story, but his song sure is catchy!
Image

And last but not least is the eldest member of our animal gang. This is Fred, believe it or not, i got Fred back in 1994 from neighbors, along with about 5 other goldfish, who got him at a local CARNIVAL! The other goldfish died within a week, but Fred is 13 years old and still going strong!
Image

Well, thats our pets. Im sure gonna miss them while im gone. Hope you all enjoy the pictures! And if perchance there is anybody who lives in the San Francisco area, id love to meet you and your turtle(s) while im west-coastin' it!

Oh my gosh, what a great group of kids!! And a 13-yr-old goldfish!! That's amazing. You are obviously doing a great job with all of them. They are all perfect!

Have fun on the west coast!

Have a safe trip...or hope you had a safe trip (since you may not read this until you get back). I'm impressed with that goldfish! I'd like some info on finch keeping when you get the chance too. I've thought about it, then thought better of it because of our cats. Since you have cats too, I thought maybe there is a chance.

beautiful photos i cant believe u have a 13 yr old goldfish, thats crazy!!

Missibsu, i have a cat (well its my boyfriends, but we live together) and i also have a green cheek conure(bird if u dontknow lol)
having the cat is really not a problem at all as far as birdkeeping goes. shadow (our bird) lives in our bedroom with us and the cat is just not allowed in here. we keep the door closed at all times and we have never had any problems.
if you are seriosuly looking for info on finches or other birds, maybe you wanna check out this other forum i belong to? its called bird board and it has TONS of friendly knowledgable members who are always willing to give any advice..
if u wanna check it out, the site is http://www.birdboard.com/forum/

Thanks Jessica! I haven't done a lot of research yet. Right now I am still in impulse stage and I don't want to end up with a pet on impulse. I've learned my lesson with these turtles. I really am hooked on the finches though, I just think they are so neat looking.

Great pics, all of your animals are cute! And actually you'll be suprised but 13 really isn't that old for a goldfish. Thier naturally life span is 20+ years. Sadly though most don't make it nearly that long, because the majority of people don't care for them correctly.
