Today (which was like...2 weeks ago) was a big day for me because I finally moved my baby turtles, 3 of the 15 I had adopted out of the "pond" in the basement to their new home upstairs right next to my computer. Now that all these babies are home, that means that all of the babies have homes, tho some of them didn't make it  all the ones that are still are around are all home :D .

Fortunately I have a lot of things from the other 2 turtles' old tank that i didnt have to buy anything new for them, which after spending a lot on them already was a nice change. So heres the rundown on the kids' new home:

Tank: 29 gal.
2 Fluval 2+ filters (yes!)
Tetrafauna heater
Med. ZooMed floating dock

At the bottom of the tank I put a green terrarium mat thats safe for the turtles' if they eat it, and it allows little bits of stuff that the filters don't get to settle down through it so it doesn't muck up the water, I have one in the 75 gal with the big turtles and the water has stayed crystal clear, so if you're wondering what to put on the bottom of your tank, I strongly suggest it.

Here are some pictures of the residents:

I moved Spot in with the babies because he was getting his tail bitten by the big turtles and he was starting to look pretty bad. I found when plecos are under stress, their color fades, when I took Spot out of the big tank, he was a very light brown, almost tan color, but a few days after being in the the babies, his color went back to a dark brown so you could see his spots again! I say hes the turtles' babysitter...

The babies sometimes nip at his tail, so when they get bigger Ill have to get a tropical fish tank (what a shaaaame! ) but sometimes Spot returns the favor!
Image

Heres Bruiser (back) and the light turtle whose name is T.B.D. (tho my sister has nicknamed her spazwad because she tends to kinda tear around the tank randomly)
Image

Heres a close-up of Bruiser, I don't like to play favorites, but I love how his head is black and neon-green.

Bruiser again

Heres the light turtle

Heres Squirt, he was the smallest of the babies and has only started growing recently, hes a little camera shy.

Thats all for now, I'll be sure to keep you all updated!

How cute they are! I'm so glad you and George were there to save them - they deserve a chance.

So....you are now the proud parent of how many...is it five?...turtles? That's a bunch of turtles!

Yup, 5 turtles, Big Turtle, Little Turtle, Squirt, Bruiser and The Turtle Who Has Yet To Be Named. Hopefully sometime I can get a picture of all of them together!
