Hey some of you may remember that one of my turtles was found on the street (yes I'm serious) well here's the thing she had a little white stripe like the one in the picture, and I thought it was just something like a bruise like she had been dropped, well the thing is that now my other little turtle has the same thing, and I'm thinking she may have gotten it from the other one.
I'm hoping it's nothing serious but some feed back would be appreciated.

also they both have a slight brownish hue on some of their plastron, I'm thinking that might be because they were without a filter for quite a while, (seeing as they were an unexpected expense) but now they have a big tank, good quality heater, filter and basking area. just need those bulbs...so dang expensive.

Oh, and I've checked, it's not soft and it doesn't feel like something that's gathered on the shell, it actually seems more like discoloration.

White or yellowish stripes down the spine of a baby turtle are very common. My theory is that the young shell is somewhat soft and, since the spine tends to protrude, it rubs against things and the wear caused the stripe. If you search on white AND stripe you'll find many examples.

I wouldn't worry about it unless it seems to be spreading or he gets white or unhealthy looking patches elsewhere on the shell. You might check your tank to see if there's anything obviously rough that he could be rubbing his back against.

alright thanks guys, and the little one chance, the only thing I've noticed is that whenever I take her out to get some dry sun she keeps falling on her back, and Luck the bigger one, already had the stripe, although a little less marked.
