fill the tank up as much as you can without the turtle haveing a chance to escape and it should be done :P

I read on many sites that you could put them in as much as 60 gal at that size. I had mine in a 50 Gal at that size with no problems. there pretty good swimmers at birth :P + they love swimming in deep water. makes them feel safe

I would say ATLEAST another 3-4 inches of water. I mean you could fill it up 3/4 and the turtle would be fine but if you are worried then I would just put another 3-4 inches. As long as the turtle has a dock it will be fine. Mine was in a 55 gallon filled 3/4 at that size.

PROMBLEM:

Basking too much!!!

I have the water at 78F and the filter and the water i know for a fact is Clean?
I'm pretty sure that the turtal has never sceen this much water he's too overwelled what should i do...? Wait till tomorow

Hes goes in the water but only to a extent where he can stick his head out of the water (edge of dock)
Only 3 times did i see him actually swim around all the water!

hes fine hes finally has a proper basking area hes fine dont worry its a new inviroment for him give him a couple days

Yeah Turtles love the bask tho and they will self-regulate there temp. so they cant dry out too much. They bask, get warm, then go swim to cool off and repeat.
