That's basically it, without the filter medium in it. I don't intend on using
this.. I did it just for this site. But each one of the bucks will first be lined
with plastic rug hooking mesh, then filter medium. Going from bigger more pourous medium in the upper bucket, then ammonia and
activated carbon in the middle, then a fine pourous sponge with smaller
plastic mesh, [shown in white in the pic] in the lower bucket.

That's it! Enjoy, feel free to give me some suggestions.

As for the bucket filter, I'm going to donate it to raysreptiles.com here
in ottawa for their use if they require it.

This looks really cool. Can you elaborate more on how you are filling it? I would like to know more about the media, and about how long it lasts/how often media must be cleaned or replaced.

I am formulating a DIY filter myself :) I'll post pics when it happens.
