Feeding and Nutrition :: Flys?

This might sound a little silly, but is it o.k. to feed your turtle flies? Sometimes they will get in the house, and my mother and I give them to him. He seems to love them.

I have fed Sheba flies in the past, but they can carry a lot of parasites & diseases. I don't do it anymore either for this reason.

Besides, Sheba would much rather have a big fat juicy blueberry as a treat! You will find there are so many other things to feed them that are much safer (and more nutritious!).

Fly's are dirty, they usually hang out around dog poo and other nasty things. I dont think you would want you're turtle eating that.
