I have no idea what happened to him :( When he started failing it went really quickly and then he died within a few hours. Looking back I guess the signs were there, he basked an awful lot... I thought it was just a baby thing. He was SO young and SO small. He did swim but not as much as Stelo.

It seems it was just a failure to thrive situation :( I don't think there was anything more we could have given him. We gave him the best environment we could.

Stelo seems fine so far. He has always been stronger than Cupid was. He eats like a pig, swims and chases the fish and really seems to be thriving. I'm scared to death now though, that something is going to happen to him too. I don't think I could take losing them both.

Sorry to hear the news :(

It does sound like he wasn't healthy to begin with and we do know they are good at hiding illnesses. Stelo sounds like he's doing great, I wouldn't worry about him.

yea same here. this story reminds me similarly of how my zero died...an extrmely sudden slide and she also basked often and swam a lot less than tails. again...i pray for Cupid. tails was ok when zero passed and hes fine so far and its been a week. i think that Stelo would be jut fine just as Steve said.

That's sad about Cupid. I know you did absolutely everything that could be done. I think Stelo's going to be fine and he's lucky to have such a good mom.

How sad, Cupid was a little darling :( I'm glad to hear Stelo is continuing to thrive, please continue posting pics so we can watch him grow up.

I'm so sorry to hear about Cupid!!!! Sometimes they just die...there's nothing that can be done. I know it isn't anything that you personally did. It's obvious from your posts that you are a loving pet owner & do everything to make their lives perfect. Don't beat yourself up over it.
