It's funny because that's exactly how she acts when she is on her back.
When I lived at home with my parents (many yrs ago), I used to let Sheba out to walk in the living room, which was one step lower than the rest of the house. Wouldn't you know that Sheba would spend an entire day just trying to climb up that 6 inch tall step....she'd get her arms up the step, be on tip-toes, and try to hoist herself up by swatting at the step with one leg...over and over till she would finally lose her balance and land on her back on the carpet (!). Then she would struggle to get herself "righted" again and walk back over to the step to try to climb up it.
Whenever she fell over on her back, we always felt sorry for her and one of us would get up from the kitchen table & flip her over. Back she went to try to climb the step, and the cycle would repeat itself. After a while, she got used to this, and would not longer try to "right" herself. She would just lie pitifully on her back, tip her head up and look at one of us like "EXCUSE ME???? CAN I GET SOME SERVICE OVER HERE????".
My parents still laugh about her doing this 10 yrs later!!!!
