One of the big problems with the reptile vs. aquarium is the bottom is not thick enough or reinforced. That's the big issue you will have to worry about. The glass itself could crack, not just leak from the corners. I would highly suggest taking it back and getting one that you know will be safe. It will be much less of a hassle then if it does spring a leak, and you are stuck in a very inconvenient time trying to hurry up and clean up the mess and find him a new tank!

in my experience the people at the pet store rarely know what they are talking about... even when they think they do. They are paid to help you, even if they dont really have the knowledge.

i agree. only 1 or 2 pet stores here have knowledgable staff, and guess what, they are NOT the big chain pet stores. they are very small family owned pet stores that have dedicated staff that are actual pet-owners. they "reptile-people" and "dog-people" to make sure they give you the help that you need.

well there was no warning on it saying u cannot fill it up.. Are all reptile tanks not equipped to handle water?? It was more expensive i kno that!!

No terrarium is made to handle water like an aquarium. They would be fine with a semi-aquatic habitat. But not a fully aquatic one.

ok so today i went to petsmart to get myrtle some live plants and to price some aquarium stands and I went over to where i purchased the terrarium and talked to this guy about it and he took me over to where the terrariums are and he showed me that it says water tight and that it should be fine until I upgrade

Water tight doesn't really mean anything. Would anyone buy any type of tank that said it wasn't water tight?

Look the tank up on the manufacturer's website or call their customer service.
