Hi everyone. I just joined this site yesterday and was looking at everyone's pics and wanted to add some of my RES, Fiona. They might not be the best pics, but thought I'd share with everyone. She's about 3-4 yrs old now.

Yeah, we actually just bought some river rock type rocks to replace the gravel with. I found out that the gravel isn't safe for her and was advised to use river rock instead. I've seen that alot of people don't add anything to the bottom of the tanks but she loves to dig and rearrange so I need to put something in there and river rocks are too big for her to eat so I think she'll be okay with those. We're also in the process of either fixing up or getting a new tank for her as well. She's basically outgrowing her tank and started to try and climb out of the tank so we either need to get a lid/top to place on the current tank or just get a new tank/container that's wide/deep enough for her needs and basking area. She is now staying in one of the tubs until we get the tank issue figured out.
Thanks for the advice though! :D

She is now out of the tub and back in her tank. She now has the gravel removed and replaced with river rock and a new screen over her basking area...that she's still trying to get used to. I'll have to take some new pics and post them. It was funny when we put her back in her tank because she is very territorial and not really accepting of anything new and she wasn't sure what to think about the new rocks or the screen. As soon as we put her back in the tank and she checked out her new rocks, she kept swimming up so wasn't touching them but just eyeing them from above and anytime she's touch them, she'd do it all over again. She got used to them though and started digging and rearranging as usual. She mad it VERY CLEAR that she doesn't like the screen over the top of the tank. First thing she did when we put her back in the tank was climb up her ramp to go and bask and she saw that screen and just started hissing at it so badly and just stared at me with this "Mom, what did you do?" look on her face and kept trying to push the screen with her head. She gave up after she realized it's not going anywhere. Keeps her from getting out and getting hurt though. I feel bad putting her back in the tank because she's really outgrowing it, but she's going to have to be patient until we can afford a bigger one. But for now, she's back to her usual routine...eating, basking, swimming, posing and sleeping.

aww she's a very cute little gal, it seems like you're a great turtle mommy and are taking great care of her and aiming to make her habitat even better - and you know her personality, too :) welcome to the forum!
