What was the size of the turtle you found? I'm thinking of getting an Eastern Painted Turtle because they seem to grow much smaller than RESs at adulthood.

I could much more easily accommodate a 6" adult turtle than I could a 12" slider.


Also can anyone tell if this turtle is an Eastern Painted turtle or a Midland Painted turtle?

I wouldn't say "much" smaller.....Female eastern paints can grow up to 9"
