I enjoy seeing other peoples tank set-ups, so I wanted to share my ideas. Here are the two turtle set-ups I have. The first, third and fourth pics are for the babies, a 55 gal with a Fluval 304 canister and a regular heat lamp, and one of those new sun/daylight lamps. I made their basking area out of one of those Jaffa plastic shelf thingys, cut out squares for them to pass in and out, and the top that they rest on is a garden plaque. The second picture is Lou's tank, a 46 gal bow front, her basking area is pavers and bricks from home depot, with a Whisper 40 power filter, heat lamp and daylight lamp. The pavers make a nice cave for her underneath which she loves to hide in which you can see in pics 5 and 6.

Anytime you see a turtle up on top of a fence post, you know he had some help.

Thanks for posting. Interesting set-ups. I especially like that last pic---looks like a big girl you've got there. :)

Is that just a crate you have in there? It's pretty neat...
I hope life is not a joke, because if it is, I don't get it.

The white crate thing is part of one of those cheap Jaffa shelf things you get at walmart, I just took one of the sections and cut out parts to make holes for the turts to swim through, stuck it in the tank upside down and put their basking rock on top. It gets pretty gross with algea but it works well for a basking area, and doesnt take up hardly any room in their tank. I didnt have the time to create one of those neat pvc racks that people have made, so that worked in a pinch. :o)

nice pictures and turtles... I would be afraid of my turtle with the stones the way you have them, because my turtle likes to move and push things around her tank...
